BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio — A portion of Interstate 480 westbound was closed Monday morning due to a five-car crash at Northfield Road, police tell Fox 8 News.

According to Bedford Heights Assistant Police Chief Dave Leonardi, it happened just before 10 a.m. when traffic slowed down, causing a chain-reaction crash.

One of the middle cars caught fire, spreading flames to two other vehicles, Leonardi said.

Two people were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with injuries described as non-life threatening.

One person was treated for burns.

The road has since reopened.
