NASA Shares Video of ‘Solar Rain’

(CBS News) — Rain and sun are typically thought of as opposites, so a “solar rain” would be something to see!

NASA shared video of the phenomenon when it occurred last July.

It happened when the sun shot out a flair of hot gas but strong magnetic fields pulled it back in.

The result was the gas “raining down” on the surface of the sun.
