STOW, Ohio — A child’s suspicious smell at school led to a much bigger problem on Tuesday, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office reports.

It happened at Lakeview School in Stow when school officials called police to inform them that a 12-year-old student had an “odor of chemicals,” a news release stated.

The Summit County Drug Unit suspected that methamphetamine was being manufactured in the child’s Lillian Road home and went to check it out.

There, agents found an active meth lab, chemicals and lab components in the basement of the residence. Meth waste and other related items were also found in the garage, according to the release.

Five children, ages 2, 8, 9, 11 and 12 were removed from the home and taken into custody by Summit County Children’s Services.

Jason Little, 37, and Brandi Little, 28, were arrested and charged with illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine in the vicinity of a minor, illegal assembly of chemicals/components for the manufacturing of methamphetamine in the vicinity of a minor and child endangering.

Both were booked into the Summit County Jail.

Further details were not immediately released.
