My Town: Cuyahoga Library Nominated for National Honor

CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Public Library has been honored as a finalist for the 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.

Libraries and museums across the nation can be nominated by anyone in order to be considered for the medal. The Institute of Museum and Library Services then chooses the finalists based on their service to their local communities.

Finalists are also recognized for their innovation, cultural engagement and dedication to educating communities.

The institute is the primary source for federal support for more than 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums in the U.S.
