LIMA, Ohio-- Ohio Governor John Kasich took a moment during Tuesday night's state of the state address to honor the staff at Chardon High School.

It's been almost one year since a gunman opened fire inside the school, killing Danny Parmertor, 16, Demetrius Hewlin, 16 and Russell King, Jr, 17.

Kasich himself was in Chardon for several days after the Feb. 27 shooting and wanted to honor the staff Tuesday night for all their work.

He handed them the Governor's Courage Award.
