BEACHWOOD, Ohio — An event is set Sunday in Beachwood to celebrate African-American history.

The 9th annual event is being presented by Diversity Matters at Beachwood Middle School.

The event is free and open to the public, beginning at 3 p.m. with a vendor showcase, followed by a program at 4 p.m. and a community Pot Luck Soul Food Feast, music and dance at 5 p.m.

The event will feature our very own Fox 8 anchor Jennifer Jordan, and the guest speaker will be Dr. Renee T. Willis with “Closing the Gap — Determining Our Own Desity,” which is a historical view through music and narration.

Also at the event, the Julian Earls Community Service Awarded will be presented and DAC High School Scholars will also be inducted.
