BOSTON, Mass. (CNN) — More than two dozen passengers were hurt when a charter bus slammed into a bridge overpass in Boston Saturday.

Fire officials said the top of the bus hit a bridge over Soldiers Field Road.

Several of the 40 passengers were trapped on the bus for more than hour.

Thirty-two people were hurt, three of them critically.

The bus was heading back to Pennsylvania from Harvard University.

Officials said the height of the bridge was clearly marked.

They’re trying to figure out why the bus was on the roadway.

The driver was not hurt.
