A Texas waiter is being celebrated for taking a stand against a family he felt was discriminatory.
Kim Castillo and her 5-year-old son, Milo, sat down for dinner recently at Laurenzo’s Prime Rib in Houston, Texas. Milo has Down syndrome, and while he can be distracting sometimes, his mom says, he isn’t uncontrollable.
Here’s what happened next, according to Castillo:
“Tonight was a first. A family of 4 asked to be moved from the booth next to us. As it turns out they told the waiter, ‘Special needs kids should be kept in special places.’ “
After hearing the insult, the waiter reportedly refused to serve the family, saying he was offended by their remark.
Since then, the restaurant’s Facebook page has been flooded with support.
