CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers missed several chances to pull ahead against the Houston Rockets Saturday evening at home at The Q.
The Cavs lost 112-104, despite a solid start and finishing the third quarter on even ground at 69-69. Guard Kyrie Irving led the Cavs with 30 points, 4 boards and 6 assists, but shaky defense was the Wine & Gold’s Achilles heel. Houston Rockets James Harden and Jeremy Lin were unstoppable on offense, together posting 49 points.
Forward Tristan Thompson added 14 points and 16 boards for the Cavs, and Center Tyler Zeller finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.
The Cavs are now 8-27, and 3-12 at home. The team is off for a day before facing off against the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 7 at 8 p.m.
