MENTOR, Ohio — A Concord Township man faces charges after police say he drove off the road and tipped over a U-Haul truck while allegedly under the influence.

According to Mentor police Lt. Ken Zbiegien, it happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.

Corey McDonald, 21, was driving west on Lake Shore Boulevard, when he went off the road and hit a mailbox. Police said he then drove through a few lawns before the truck tipped over on its side and slid several dozen feet.

Zbiegien said McDonald was not injured, but police believe he was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.

McDonald was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and was set to appear Friday in Mentor Municipal Court.
