Something had to give tonight in Charlotte, as two of the NBA’s worst teams met on the hardwood.

Fortunately for Cavs fans, it was the Bobcats turn to lose.

Kyrie Irving scored 16 of the team’s last 18 points, including a clutch jumper with 1 second left on the clock, as Cleveland held on to beat Charlotte 106-104.

Irving finished with 33 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Tristan Thompson pitched in with 19 points and 13 rebounds. C.J. Miles had 18 for the Cavs.

Cleveland went to the break with a 14-point lead, but it evaporated in the third and fourth quarters.

The victory runs the Cavs record to 8-26 on the season. They return home to take on the Houston Rockets Saturday night.
