CANTON, Ohio -- The East Sparta man caught on tape apparently mocking the way a girl with Cerebral Palsy walks is behind bars tonight.

Bill Bailey, 43, reported to the Stark County jail Wednesday morning to begin serving his 29-day sentence.  He was sentenced in November after pleading no contest to charges of disorderly conduct and menacing.

The video which shows Bailey walking with a limp was captured in September on a cell phone by the grandmother of Hope, 10.  Hope and her family live next door to Bailey and the families have been arguing for several months.

Hope’s parents, Tricia and Mike Knight, say Bailey and his 9-year-old son have bullied Hope.  Bailey has denied that he was making fun of Hope.

He told us in a prior interview that he was walking with a limp in that video because of a work injury.  He also contends that Hope’s family harassed his son.  Hope’s family says that is not true.

Bailey’s charges stem for his actions caught on the tape and for statements he made to Hope’s mother.

At his sentencing in November Bailey issued a written statement of apology to Hope and her family.
