LORAIN, Ohio -- Lorain Police are investigating after one man was shot and killed at a gas station early Monday morning.

Police say they received a call of shots fired at the Liberty Gas Station parking lot on Broadway Avenue just before 4:00 a.m.

When police arrived, they found several people shot.

According to the Cuyahoga County coroner's office, one unidentified male was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died of his wounds Monday morning.

Police say they are not identifying the victim until his family is notified.

Meantime, people in the neighborhood say violence is a problem.

"It is getting worse here.  So far, I've heard that a couple people were shot recently.  That's on top of the guy who died today.  Everybody just need to chill on the violence, we have kids, do whatever you got to do and better yourself for the future," said Matthew Noble, of Lorain.

Police say they are in the early stages of the investigation and reviewing surveillance video.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lorain Police Department.
