Lamp vs Gun in Home Break-in

CLEVELAND– Police say a man shot the person who broke into his home.

Cleveland police say it happened on Portage Avenue just before 9 a.m. on Monday.

An investigation revealed that the victim confronted the suspect. That’s when, police say, the suspect tried to hit the homeowner with a lamp.

Police say the homeowner then shot the suspect and called police.

He held the suspect until police arrived.

The suspect was being treated for his injuries at MetroHealth Medical Center.
