Browns Fans React to Dismal Season
By Allison Brown, Fox 8 Reporter
CLEVELAND — The season is over for the Cleveland Browns, with more losses than wins—again.
The end of the season also brings about some potential change in leadership for the franchise.
An announcement is expected that Pat Shurmur, head coach of the Browns, and General Manager Tom Heckert will be let go.
“We’re tired of losing,” said John Yurik, a Browns fan.
“I cried on the way home of the last game,” said Marie Cervay, who had season tickets to the games this year.
“We can’t move forward with the wrong pieces,” said Rob Myers, a diehard fan.
So how can this team improve?
“Clearly a change is coming down,” said Yurik.
Some fans at the Winking Lizard in downtown Cleveland had plenty of opinions about the potential changes coming to management positions within the Cleveland Browns franchise.
The decision is up to Jimmy Haslam III, who spent $1 billion for the franchise.
“He’s going to bring in his own people,” one fan predicts.
Several Browns fans tell FOX 8 that a 9-23 record over the last two years just isn’t going to cut it; however some say don’t give up on leadership after only two years.
“Let’s stick with it and see what happens,” said Cervay.
“I think Pat Shurmur’s taking them in the right direction,” said Treg Adams, a fan.
