Suspected Bank Robber Arrested

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A man wanted for allegedly robbing five banks was located on Saturday after authorities received a tip.

The Warrensville Heights Police Department arrested Cetric Sumpter at the Express Inn around 10 a.m.

According to the Cleveland Division of the FBI, Sumpter’s streak began on Oct. 26 at the Dollar Bank on Wilson Mills Road in Richmond Heights.

On Oct. 30, he is accused of robbing the PNC Bank on Warrensville Center Road in University Heights.

It wasn’t until Nov. 19 that he went after the Ohio Savings Bank on Cedar Road in South Euclid, the FBI said.

Next Sumpter allegedly robbed the Dollar Bank on Brecksville Road in Independence on Nov. 26.

He is also suspected of robbing the US Bank on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights on Dec. 13.

Sumpter was arrested without incident and is expected to be charged.
