CLEVELAND– The city’s snow removal fleet was out today pre-treating roads with salt and de-icer. With several inches of accumulation expected before 10 p.m., crews will be staffed to salt and clear streets as need.
The city has over 22,000 tons of salt ready to go and 48 trucks ready to cover 54 routes around the city.
Cleveland is using environmentally friendly materials like salt brine and an organic based pre-wetting agent that can be used at much lower temperatures.
The city says the goal is to have all streets serviced within 24 to 36 hours from when snow stops falling.
