CLEVELAND HEIGHTS– An arrest has been made in a case of animal abuse, almost one month after a dog is found shot and tied to a tree.

Ramone Clements has been charged with one count of animal cruelty and one count of discharging a firearm.

Police say the Cleveland man walked a dog into the Forest Hills Park on Nov. 25, tied the dog to a tree and then fired four shots at the dog, striking him at least two times.

Clements then allegedly left the park, leaving the injured dog tied to a tree.

Police say Clements was taken into custody Wednesday. He’s being held in the Cleveland Heights Jail.

The dog was rescued and was named Forest. The mastiff has received a huge outpouring of support from our Fox 8 viewers.

PAWS has been caring for him. They say he just recently underwent another surgery and is doing well.

We will continue to keep you updated on how Forest is doing.
