Prayers for Roger: Stefani’s Update (12/2)

CLEVELAND — Fox 8′s Stefani Schaefer gave us an update on how the holiday season is going with Roger Sunday evening.

She’s all smiles!

Roger has been recovering from an April accident during which he fell 12 feet off of scaffolding and suffered severe head trauma.

“Hope you had a nice weekend. I can’t believe it’s already Sunday night! Whoa!
The kids and I had a great day with Roger today. As I write this tonight, I can’t tell you how Blessed we feel that we HAVE Roger!!! Thank you God!
Speaking of…. I was just reading my “prayer of the day” email and wanted to share today’s with you… it’s a good one to read during this busy time of year.

O Lord, as I prepare for the upcoming Christmas celebration, help me to remember the true meaning of the season…Jesus. I often get overwhelmed with shopping lists and decorating, forgetting to slow down and appreciate the gift of the Christ Child to the world. Help me to remember that Christmas is not about finding the perfect gift, but about making time to share with my loved ones. Amen.

This prayer rings SO true – Just to BE with Roger on Thanksgiving last week was such a gift, such a blessing. I was in heaven just to be spending time with Roger, my children, my 93 year old grandparents, my mom, friends, brother and even my foster sister Missy joined us this year – It really is God and the PEOPLE in our lives who are the greatest GIFTS. Make sure to remind all the special people in your life just how special they are! Sleep tight.”
