ATLANTA, Georgia – Dion Waiters’ last second shot fell short, but Alonzo Gee’s offensive rebound and put back basket lifted the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 113-111 win over the Atlanta Hawks, Friday night.

Jeremy Pargo scored a Cavs team high 22 points, including two big baskets in the final two minutes.

Waiters added 20 and dished out a career-high 7 assists, one to Anderson Varejao that gave Cleveland (4-12) a 107-105 lead with less than a minute to play.

Varejao continued his impressive start to the season, scoring 20 points and grabbing 18 rebounds, his sixth straight game with double-digit rebounds.

Josh Smith led Atlanta (9-5) with 25 points, but went cold in the final four minutes, as Waiters and Pargo took over.

Louis Williams hit a big three-pointer with 13 seconds left to tie the game at 111-111, before Gee’s layup ended the Cavs’ four-game losing streak.

The Cavs return home to the Quicken Loans Arena Saturday, Dec. 1 to host the Portland Trail Blazers (6-9). Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
