Prayers for Roger: Stefani’s Update (11/21)
Fox 8 News in the Morning anchor Stefani Schaefer says her family will have a very special Thanksgiving tomorrow! She stopped by Fox 8 for Operation Giving Tree and filled us in via Facebook what her husband Roger will be up to for Thanksgiving.
Roger suffered a traumatic brain injury back in April when he fell from scaffolding.
Since then, Stefani has included viewers in Roger’s recovery both on-air and on her Facebook fan page.
Here’s what she posted Wednesday:
Just got home from stopping by the Fox 8 Studios with my children. They really wanted to bring some toys to help with our Annual Fox 8 Giving Tree toy drive. I loved that they wanted to be a part of it… and that their hearts go out to the children who wake up Christmas morning without something special to open. It really felt so good going… and once we arrived, we were greeted with open arms
from the wonderful Fox 8 staff and incredible members of The Church on the North Coast. They spent their entire day… from 5:30am until 7:00 at night.. singing and helping out… AMAZING!! I always participate in our Giving Tree toy drive… but this time, bringing my children brought extra special purpose and meaning. We were all so thrilled to see the huge pile of toys that accumulated in the Fox 8 lobby…. it’s just amazing. Thanks to all of you who came out and helped today!! You helped to do something WONDERFUL!!! So, after we left this evening, we picked up a pizza from Pizzazz in Mayfield (delicious)! (Ok, TWO pizza’s)… and we are about to watch the movie Top Gun. When we wake up… the kids are helping me make our favorites for Thanksgiving…. my 93 year old grandmother’s stuffing recipe and Race’s FAVORITE cranberry sauce. Then… we’ll spend the day with family… and we are so excited to have Roger home with all of us for the day! So, I ask you on this Thanksgiving EVE…. what is your favorite Thanksgiving dish…. and what are your Thanksgiving traditions? Please share… I would love to hear!!! Blessings and Big Hugs!
