March of Dimes
How would you like to taste test your way through a room filled with some of the area’s top chefs? Plus, it’s for a great cause! We welcomed Laurie Meadows from the March of Dimes to talk about their 2012 Cleveland Signature Chef’s Auction.
Each chef that chooses to participate is asked to present a signature sampling for event patrons and/or donate a unique package to be sold during the live auction or silent auction portion of the event. The evening is filled with bidding on a unique assortment of live and silent auction packages, including experiences with the evening’s chefs, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, entertainment and travel, and our very special Fund the Mission.
One of the chef’s from the event joined us today in studio! Chef Richard Arnoldi, from Muse at Ritz Carlton made us his “smoked hog pierogies with BBQ brussel kraut.”

Prescribing 50 Shades of Grey
With over 40 million copies sold worldwide – it’s no secret that “50 Shades of Grey” is a literary success. But can it actually save your marriage and enhance your love life? We welcomed Psychiatrist, Dr. Sara Stein to discuss this topic.
According to Dr. Stein, middle-aged and older women often experience a decrease in sexual desire as they approach menopause and after – for a variety of reasons including medication, hormone deficiency, diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes, stress, depression, insomnia among others.
This series with its combination of sex and romance – and that’s the key - leads to secretion of oxytocin in the brain – the cuddle hormone – which responsible in a large part for female sex drive. Reading the books increases oxytocin in the female brain, and increases sex drive in women who may not have experienced sexual desire in years.

Children’s International Summer Villages
Children’s International Summer Villages is an international peace organization founded in Ohio 60 years ago. Since then, the organization has grown to over 60 countries. The premise: four representatives – aged 11 (because they are old enough to travel away from home but young enough to not have been “seeped” in prejudice) from 12 countries are brought together to live as a community somewhere in the world for a month in the hope they will return home with an increased level of acceptance and understanding of other cultures.
