HUDSON, Ohio — A boil alert that had been issued for many cities in Summit County has been lifted.

Officials say a water main break on Stow Road in Hudson Tuesday morning caused reduced water pressure for Akron Water customers.

As a result, customers north of the Ohio Turnpike, within the City of Hudson, the City of Twinsburg and Twinsburg Township were advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before drinking. Akron Water customers who live south of the Turnpike were not affected.

The break also forced Hudson High School and Ellsworth Elementary School to close early on Tuesday. The schools reopened on Wednesday.
