MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — An apartment fire shut down a portion of I-480 eastbound and other roads Saturday.

Fire crews responded to a fire at the 5000 block of Warrensville Center Road shortly after 5 p.m. The fire appears to have started on the third floor of the building and roof by a faulty furnace.

Several streets and highway I-480 were closed to battle the blaze. Warrensville Center Road is closed at Miles Road and Libby Road, and I-480 is closed at the Warrensville Center Road exit.

Those roads and highway I-480 are now open.

There were no injuries reported from the fire. The Red Cross is assisting 10 families displaced by the blaze.
