WESTLAKE, Ohio — Is Nordstrom Rack coming to Crocker Park?

Rumors are flying concerning the luxury off-price division of Nordstrom, Inc. Currently there is only one Nordstrom Rack in Northeast Ohio located at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst. When it opened for business in the fall of 2008, it was the first Nordstrom Rack in the state and it didn’t take long for customers to get in on the steals and deals.

“They have pretty much everything you could possibly need a lot less expensive price,” said Karla Caputo.

The first Nordstrom Rack store opened in the 1970s in the basement of Nordstrom’s downtown Seattle store.

It started as a clearance department, but quickly grew into a much sought after retailer that expanded into other markets across the country.

The store is known for offering the hottest trends and luxury labels for the entire family that are currently seen at the malls, but at a significantly lower price.

Everything from name brand boots and shoes to cashmere sweaters and The North Face coats are sold at 50 to 60 percent off the full retail price.

The new proposed Nordstrom Rack is rumored to be opening its doors in the fall of 2013; although no one from Crocker Park and the Promenade will confirm the reports.

Repeated calls to management were not returned, however a corporate spokesperson for Nordstrom Rack in Seattle told Fox 8 News Reporter Suzanne Stratford that they are “very hopeful” and would love to expand in the Cleveland market.

She said they hope to have a big announcement later this week.

Shoppers like Karla Caputo say it’s well worth the wait, “I think it’ll be great for anyone that’s a serious shopper.”
