Truck Barrels Through Liquor Store

CARMICHAEL, Calif. — A California liquor store clerk and a customer buying smokes escaped injury after a truck barreled through the wall and into the cash register.

According to KTXL, the customer was pulling out his cash to pay for cigarettes when the truck drove through the wall. The clerk was pinned between the truck and the cash register, but had only minor injuries.

It was all caught on store surveillance video.

Right after the crash, the two ran after the truck for a license plate number.

Police soon caught up with and arrested a 34-year-old man on charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a hit and run accident. The suspect was issued a $50,000 bond.

The accident did several thousand dollars worth of damage to the store, and there were several broken liquor bottles.
