Man Fatally Stabbed in Canton

CANTON, Ohio — Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 34-year-old man in Canton, Fox 8 News reports.

It happened just before 1 a.m. Friday in the 2100 block of 3rd Street SE.

According to Canton Police Lt. Roger Crihfield, a man called 911 claiming that he had been stabbed. When officers arrived, they found him on the floor of a residence with stab wounds.

The man was transported to Mercy Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.

Further details about the homicide were not immediately available.

The Canton Police Department is investigating.
