Police: Motorcycle Seller Takes Money, Doesn’t Deliver

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio — Authorities have arrested a man for allegedly accepting and keeping payment for a motorcycle, but never delivering the vehicle.

Police say Joseph M. Nice listed the motorcycle on the online auction website eBay and the buyer, a resident of Canada, agreed to wire $5,972 to purchase it.

The buyer says the money was wired to Nice on December 27, 2011, but never received the motorcycle. After contacting the alleged shipping agency the buyer learned the vehicle was never scheduled to be shipped. He says Nice agreed to refund the money, but never received the money back.

The seller contacted Canadian authorities, who located Nice using a picture of the motorcycle’s license plate number and contacting North Royalton police, who arrested Nice.

The case is currently under investigation with Canadian authorities and the North Royalton Police Department.
