EUCLID, Ohio -- The city of Euclid held a grand opening and dedication for four brand new, state-of-the-art elementary schools Saturday.
The schools, Chardon Hills Elementary, Bluestone Elementary, Shoreview Elementary and Arbor Elementary all feature secure entryways for students and faculty. They also feature "green" technology and after-hours access to gymnasiums and ball fields for Euclid residents to use.
The construction of the new school was partially funded with a partnership between the Euclid Board of Education and the Ohio School Facilities Commission. Community support on a bond issue in 2009 secured the majority of the funding, while the Commission paid 41 percent of construction costs. Building operations will be supported by the district's general fund.
