Norton City Official Killed in Motorcycle Crash

NORTON, Ohio –The Director of Community Development for the City of Norton has died following a morning motorcycle accident in Clinton County.

Mayor Mike Zita’s office confirms that John P. Moss was killed in the accident which occurred around 4:08 a.m.

Officials with the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol tell Fox 8 News that Moss was riding his motorcycle on Interstate 71 when he failed to stop and struck the rear of a van.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol the van was stopped in traffic due to an earlier crash in the same area.

Moss was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
