Rangers Hand Indians 5th Loss in a Row

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers handed the Indians their fifth loss in a row on Wednesday night in Arlington, Texas. The final was 5-2.
Jeanmar Gomez absorbed the loss, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs in 4 innings on the hill.
The Rangers got busy from the start. Josh Hamilton grounded into a fielder’s choice to chase home the first run in the first inning.
Adrian Beltre followed with a two-run homer to left center and it was 3-0.
Hamilton got into the act with a solo homer of his own in the 3rd for a 4-0 lead.
The Indians added single runs in the 4th and 5th innings on a Kotchman grounder into a fielder’s choice and a Santana sacrifice fly.
The Indians have now lost 22 of their last 27 ballgames.
The same two teams meet on Thursday in Texas.
