Dog Flu Dangers: What You Need to Know
You’ve heard of Swine and Bird Flu, but Dog Flu?
It’s known as H3N8 and it can be fatal in severe cases. It’s a lot like influenza. Symptoms include coughing, sneezing and fever.
The most common places for transmission are dog shelters, your vet’s office and dog parks. Vets say it’s a viral disease that will likely pass on its own in 10-14 days.
If symptoms persist, get your pooch into the dog doctor and they’ll likely be treated with antibiotics.
Dog Flu can not be given to humans.
Dog Flu shots are readily available but not necessarily recommended.
They cost about $20 a piece.
