DETROIT — The Cleveland Indians pulled off a Labor Day win against the Detroit Tigers, 3-2.

The Tribe scored their first of three runs in the first inning. Jason Kipnis hit a double, and then later sent home on a single by Michael Brantley. The Tigers evened it up in the first with a single run, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Indians. Shin-Soo Choo singled to first at the top of the third inning, and then stole to second base before scoring on a single to center field by Asdrubal Cabrera.

Detroit managed to tie the game at the bottom of the fourth, but the Tribe answered at the top of the seventh on Cabrera’s sacrifice fly to center. Louis Marson scored, sealing the Tigers’ fate this go around.

The win marks Indians pitcher Corey Kluber’s first career victory.

The Indians take on the Tigers again Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Detroit.
