CLEVELAND — The final exhibition game for the Browns was forgettable in several areas.

Let’s get the important numbers out of the way first.   The Bears posted a 28-20 victory after taking a 14-0 lead at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Colt McCoy started for the Browns and played poorly. He was picked off early in the contest and the Bears made him pay.  Dane Sanzenbacher, the former Ohio State star, caught a 30 yard TD pass and the Bears were on the board.

They made it 14-0 when Josh McCown tossed his second TD pass of the night to Armando Allen from 11 yards.

Cleveland moved the ball when Seneca Wallace took over the controls of the offense.  Running back Brandon Jackson made some big runs and then Wallace hit Rod Windsor with a 2 yard TD pass.  McCoy was only 2 of 5 for 16 yards with one interception. His QB rating was less than 10. Wallace had a QB rating of 141.7.

The Browns got a fourth quarter TD from running back Adonis Thomas, and the second of two Phil Dawson field goals to finish out the scoring.

Many of the Browns starters sat out the game, including Brandon Weeden, Joe Haden, Scott Fujita and, of course, Trent Richardson, who is coming back from his knee surgery.

With the loss, the Browns finish the preseason with a 2-2 mark and next have to cut down the roster on Friday to 53.

The season opener is Sunday, Sept. 9 when the Eagles visit Browns Stadium.
