Man Crashes Truck Into Pond, Gets 6th OVI

MASSILLON, Ohio — A drunken man crashed his truck into a retention pond Sunday, which earned him his sixth OVI arrest, Massillon police reported.

Robert Schreckengost, 43, reportedly failed to negotiate a curve near the Massillon Recreation Center before he splashed his vehicle into the water.

A posting on the Massillon Police Department’s Facebook page shows a picture of Schreckengost’s truck half-submerged in the pond.

Schreckengost was charged with felony OVI, driving under suspension and operating without reasonable control.

According to court documents, he’s being held on $50,000 bond in the Stark County Jail pending a pretrial.
