SOLON, Ohio — A hungry man became enraged when he could not find anything to eat in the house and threatened his wife with a butcher knife.

According to the Solon Police Department, Bernard Hampton, 42, was arrested for domestic violence.

His wife and witnesses told police Hampton was not satisfied with the food selection at his Hamilton Court home on Monday.

Hampton allegedly began destroying household items then took hold of a butcher knife and threatened his wife when she tried to calm him down.

There was a struggle over the knife, and in the process Hampton was cut in the abdomen, Solon police said.

He did not enter a plea to one fourth degree felony count of domestic violence when he was arraigned on Tuesday.
