SEATTLE — The nightmare continues for the Indians.  They lost for the 8th time in a row on Wednesday afternoon in Seattle, 3-1. The loss spoiled a solid effort on the hill by Zach McAllister, who went 6 innings allowing only 3 hits and one run.

The 8th loss in a row means the Indians have matched the futility of the 1987 Indians, who had two losing skids of at least 8 games.  Earlier this campaign, the Indians lost 11 in a row.

The Tribe was down 1-0 when Casey Kotchman reached on an infield single. That plated the tying run but misery visited the Wahoos in the 8th inning.

Eric Thames doubled to deep right off of Vinnie Pestano and two runs scored. Those two runs provided the margin of victory for the streaking Mariners, who have now seen their win streak reach 8 games.

The Indians are off on Thursday with the Yankees visiting Progressive Field starting Friday night. Its possbile Cleveland could match the 11 game skid from earlier in the season.
