NEW DAY CLEVELAND
Source: Cavs Reach Deal with Alonzo Gee
CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers have come to terms with forward Alonzo Gee, a restricted free agent, on a three-year, $9.8 million deal sources tell FOX 8’s John Telich.
Gee was the 2010 D-League Rookie of the year who averaged 10.6 points and 5.1 rebounds last season for the Cavs in 63 games.
He was extended a qualifying offer of $2.7 million earlier this summer which he chose not to sign, hoping for a better deal.
Gee did not participate in the summer league because of his contract issues, but he should be ready for training camp when it begins this fall.
The only hold up on the deal, according to Telich’s source, is guaranteed money and a team option for the fourth year.
