(KTLA) — A photo that surfaced of Michael Phelps lounging in a bathtub has raised questions about his medal count — namely, will he be stripped of the hardware?

The Louis Vuitton ad came under scrutiny because athletes are prohibited from appearing in ads for non-Olympic sponsors during a certain time period.

Violations could include sanctions of fines and/or the stripping of medals.
