My Town: Chili Cookoff at Thistledown
NORTH RANDALL,Ohio – The folks at Thistledown Racetrack are spicing things up this weekend with the 12th Annual Regional Chili and Salsa Cookoff.
On Saturday, August 18, cooks will compete for $1,700 in cash and winners will advance to the International Chili Society World’s Championship in Charleston, West Virginia.
Guests can make a donation to sample the different chilis and salsas after the judging which takes place at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Donations will go to Victory Gallop of Bath which offers therapeutic and recreational horseback riding for children with special needs.
You can also enjoy live music performed on the outdoor stage from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission to Thistledown and parking are free. Preferred parking is also available. Thistledown is located at 21501 Emery Road in North Randall.
