Unusual Lightning Strike Hurts Woman

Foxborough, MA (WCVB) — An elderly woman in Foxborough, Mass. had to be taken to the hospital after a lightning strike.

Investigators say lightning hit a tree in her yard — and traveled through the dirt, to her house!

The picture to the right shows the path the lightning took as it tore across her lawn.

Parts of the woman’s house were also burned.

The woman complained of chest pains after the strike.

This was part of a severe weather event that hit parts of New England on Friday.
