Man Struck, Killed by Car in Cleveland
CLEVELAND — A man died early Thursday morning after a car struck him on the city’s east side, Fox 8 News reports.
It happened just after 2 a.m. at East 93rd Street and George Avenue.
Cleveland Police say 37-year-old Aaron Nance, of Cleveland, was crossing the street when he was struck by a Hyundai Tiburon that was southbound on East 93rd Street.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 37-year-old woman, stopped after the accident and called 911. She is cooperating with police and has not been charged, a news release stated.
Nance was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. An official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officials say speed was not a factor in the accident. Police are still determining if drugs or alcohol played a part.
Once the investigation is complete, the facts will be presented to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
Further details were not immediately released.
