Woman Stabbed, Raped in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigating after a woman was stabbed and sexually assaulted early Wednesday morning.

It happened on East 46th Street near Central Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. Officers were called to the area for a report of a 64-year-old woman being stabbed.

According to a police report, the woman was walking through a field when a suspect attacked her from behind, then knocked her to the ground.

When officers arrived, they learned that the woman was also the victim of a sexual assault. Cleveland EMS took the woman to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she was treated for a stab wound to the neck and other injuries suffered during the attack.

A search for the suspect turned up empty.
