Rape Victim Describes Hours of Terror
CLEVELAND — A 64-year-old woman survived a horrible attack and police said the man who did it was still on the run as of Wednesday night.
She told police she was stabbed several times and raped for several hours.
“I thought he was gonna kill me for real. I was just trying to do everything he said,” the woman told Fox 8 News.
Fox 8 News is not revealing her name or showing her face because she’s an alleged rape victim.
“I didn’t even hear the man coming, he just grabbed me. He told me he was gonna kill me if I didn’t do what he said. He said he’d killed three girls before and he wasn’t from here and wouldn’t nobody never find them,” she said.
The woman said around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, she was walking to a relative’s home and cut through a field at East 46th and Central. That’s when she said the man stabbed and raped her.
“When he first cut my neck, I just started doing what he said,” she explained.
The woman said after about an hour of terror, she tried to fight him off.
“But he was so strong, I couldn’t get away from him. When he cut me the first time, I wasn’t really trying to resist it, so I just got tired of being there, and then I tried to fight with him and that’s when he stabbed me here,” she said.
She said even though she was bleeding from her neck and chest, the attack did not stop.
“After he stabbed me, he raped, he did it for another hour and then he let me go,” said the woman.
The woman said she ran several blocks to East 59th and Central, where she encountered a relative who called police. She said there are usually a lot of people walking in that area, but at the time of the attack, she didn’t see anyone nearby.
The woman also told police she would have a hard time identifying her attacker, beyond a general description of a man in his late 50′s, about 5’8”, 175 pounds.
“I didn’t want to look at him, he might have killed me then,” she said.
The woman was treated at MetroHealth Medical Center for stab wounds and had a rape kit done. She was later released.
