Akron Children’s Doggie Brigade Marks 20 Years

Akron Children’s Hospital is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Doggie Brigade. If you’re not familiar, the program allows dogs to visit with patients — and in this case — kids.

Tonight, nearly 50 members of the Doggie Brigade will mark the milestone at Canal Park, where longtime program spokesman Ken McCort will throw out the first pitch before the Aeros game.

Meanwhile, enjoy the above clip of a special dog involved with Doggie Brigade: Marley!

The tender-hearted pooch stopped by Fox 8 News in the Morning with fellow volunteer Justin Couch, along with Ken, to talk about the program.
