RENTON (KCPQ) — The Seahawks have come to terms with wide receiver Terrell Owens, the team announced Monday. Owens could provide fans a welcome distraction from the team’s quarterback controversy. He could provide the quarterbacks a much-needed all-pro target — as well as an ongoing challenge in the locker room.

Owens, the controversial but extremely talented receiver, worked out with the team Monday morning. He reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds. Owens owns the 4th-most touchdowns of all time and has been selected for the Pro Bowl 6 times.

The Seahawks, who cut ties with Mike Williams last month, have also recently signed Braylon Edwards. Owens joins Edwards, Golden Tate, Sidney Rice, Ben Obamanu, and Doug Baldwin in the receiving corps.

Owens has not played in the NFL since 2010, when he caught 72 passes for 983 yards with the Cincinnati Bengals.
