SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Authorities arrested a man and woman in Springfield Township for allegedly operating a methamphetamine lab inside a residence with a child inside Saturday.

Officers were called to a residence near Oakes Drive to investigate the possible presence of a meth lab at approximately 7:00 p.m. When they arrived, officers say they noticed the smell of chemicals coming from inside the home and discovered an active meth lab inside.

Following the discovery, police arrested Tony Macchiarole, 33, of Akron and Kelly M.  Bolyard, 23, of Springfield Township inside the home. Both are charged with assembly to manufacture drugs, a first-degree felony. Bolyard was also charged with child endangering for having her 6-year-old child in the home.

The suspects are currently in Summit County Jail, and the child is in the care of family members.
