DETROIT — The Cleveland Indians managed to score a run late in the game Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Tigers.
The teams began with a slow start following a rain delay, but Detroit found their swing shortly thereafter.
The Tigers scored two runs in the second inning against the Tribe–more than enough to secure a win. They tacked on another three points in the fourth and a single run in the sixth to seal the deal.
The Tribe scored a single run in the ninth inning on Ezequiel Carrera’s triple to left-center field. He scored the team’s only run on a ground out from Jason Kipnis.
The Indians are now 50-57 following this loss, their longest streak since 2009.
The team faces the Tigers again Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
