(KTXL) RIO LINDA — Leann Munro’s pet cat Pebbles has gone on quite a ride these past two months.
Pebbles somehow managed to lodge himself into the engine of Munro’s car, taking the cat on a ride that nearly cost him his life.
“He’s had a couple surgeries on his jaw and they’ve had to remove his tail here at the end,” Munro said.
In early June, Pebbles, an adventurous outdoor cat, was found 15 miles from Leann’s home in Rio Linda. A good samaritan spotted Pebbles hiding by a shed in Carmichael with burns, cuts, and a broken jaw.
“We’re not sure how he got there, I’m just thankful for the good samaritan, the microchip, and having insurance.”
Because of Pebbles’ microchip and pet insurance, Leann was easily located and all of Pebbles’ treatments were fully covered.
“One of the reasons we know he would do so well is that kept trying to clean himself, even after the first day before the jaw had been repaired.”
Pebble’s insurance company, Veterinary Pet Insurance, chooses its favorite insurance claim for every month, and Pebbles the cat was June’s most interesting claim.
“It was a big decision with both the vet and myself as to whether we were going to make him suffer, so it was a day by day thing and we just knew that he was a fighter.”
