Remains Found in Missing Akron Man’s Car
WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio — A law enforcement source tells Fox 8 News that remains were found in a car that belonged to an Akron man, who has been missing for nearly two months.
A helicopter pilot spotted Jorry Palm’s car Tuesday while flying over the area north of Salt Springs Road in Weathersfield Township. It was discovered on its roof in a swampy area, officials said. A body believed to be that of Palm, was inside.
The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy today to make a positive identification, and determine a cause of death.
Investigators said Palm’s car was headed northbound on SR 46 at a high rate of speed, when it failed to maneuver a bend in the road, then struck a large area of concrete and brick debris. The car continued through a wooded area, over a ravine and came to a rest on its roof.
Officials are working to find out what day and time the accident occurred.
Palm, 28, was reported missing on June 9.
